Katerina, comes from Athens, Greece and acquired her Bachelor degree at the Biology Department of Patras University. She started working with the team of professor Dr Th. Mantzavinos – one of the pioneers in IVF field in Greece – as Clinical Embryologist and later as Lab Director at one of the biggest and most respected IVF centers in Athens. Having worked in the field of Human Reproduction for 25 years, she has become familiar with and practiced all techniques related to IVF.

She took part at the workshop on Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) at Medical Faculty of Dutch speaking Free University in Brussels in 2002 and she got accreditation as Senior Clinical Embryologist by European Society of Human Reproduction (ESHRE) in 2008. Additionally, she is well experienced in the cutting edge technology in terms of IVF lab as vitrification of oocytes and blastocysts as well as blastocyst biopsy for PGS and PGD in order to give a patient the best chances of success. Being very particular and dedicated to her job she considers each patient a unique case ensuring the best results.
Katerina always welcomes new challenges and joining the team at Barbados Fertility Clinic as Lab Director in 2014 and working overseas in a well-equipped lab and pleasant environment seemed like the perfect opportunity to her. She is very excited to be running the lab at Cayman Fertility Centre.
